1. Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Topper

The topper is soft enough for the majority of people, yet it doesn't sacrifice support. It was shaped to fit the contours of our test subjects' bodies and provided support in all the right places. It fits all mattresses, but it can be tricky to put the sheets on. (Read more about how to set up mattress toppers here). The thick layer of memory foam is machine washed and naturally antibacterial. It comes with an upholstered bamboo cover that is non-toxic and sustainably harvested. It was a favorite of our panelists, but it's important to note that it does not have straps that help attach the topper to your mattress, so it may shift while you sleep.

The panelists who loved this topper also loved how it helped them with their back pain. It's a great choice for sleepers with heavier weights who might consider a mattress with three to four inches can relieve pressure on sensitive areas such as hips and shoulders.

A two-inch layer of memory foam infused with copper helps to wick heat and improves airflow to ensure a cool night's sleep. The top layer was firm enough to ease her pressure in the back as well as the front and side sleeping positions, but not so rigid that it made her feel uncomfortable. She also noticed that her back pain "pretty quickly disappeared over the course of the night." She was also amazed by the topper's quietness, even when paired with spring mattresses. It also stops motion transfer, which makes it a good option for couples sharing a bed.

A layer of copper-infused memory foam draws heat away from your body to keep you cool during the night, and it's topped with a 2" layer of memory foam with a ventilated surface to allow for more airflow.

The Retreat is an excellent mattress topper if you're looking for an extra soft feel. Louise, a Strategist writer, stated that when she tested it out, the topper quickly adjusted and cradled so she felt at ease and well-supported.
